Purifying your environment
Clearing away physical things which no longer serve you helps to cleanse your mind and energy. Clear away unnecessary possessions, recycling or giving to charity. Clean your home thoroughly and open the windows to let out stale or unwanted energy.
Use sound to break up stagnant energy, using singing bowls, bells, gongs, rattles, drums or simply clapping your hands.
Crystals recommended for relaxing and meditating are rose quartz, amethyst, moonstone, selenite and smoky quartz. Beautifully ergonomic egg-shaped crystals are also wonderful to use.
Using highly patterned jaspers with ‘pathways’ your eyes can follow can also help you to achieve a state of relaxation and lead your mind inwards.
Find yourself a quiet area either inside or outside where you will not be disturbed. Turn off your phone and clear the area of electrical items if you can. You can use rainforest or ocean sounds or meditation music to block out the outside world if needed.
Make sure you are sitting or lying comfortably and cup your chosen crystal in your hand to create a connection. You may find it helpful to close your eyes, breathe slowly and deeply, releasing any tension in your shoulders and back. Try to clear your mind of thoughts and bring your mind to the absolute present.
Open your eyes (if you closed them) and gaze into crystal allowing your mind to wander over any patterns it holds without thought or analysis. Allow tranquillity and happiness to fill you.
When you are ready, slowly bring yourself back into focus, stretch and walk about calmly.
